A Film by John Sheehan
Pete Pierson, a recently unemployed attorney, just started production on his first movie. He may not have a good story to tell, a burning passion to express himself, or even a basic understanding of film, but he does have a crush on a local indie film queen and several thousand dollars in the bank. With help from his flaky best friend, dead beat brother, and a rival director known around town as "MumblecOrson Welles," Pete's movie can't miss. Assuming he ever figures out what it's about.
For Serious is both an example, and satire, of the mumblecore genre of independent filmmaking. Produced entirely in Austin, Texas, it is the brain child of John Sheehan and Andrew Gajkowski. It marks Sheehan's film directorial debut and Gajkowksi's triumphant return to film following a decade long self-imposed hiatus after his work as an assistant editor on the awful remake of Rollerball.
